Android Mobile Engineer for VivaReal

Mobile Engineer Description:

VivaReal is looking for a mobile Android engineer who has experience building mobile applications and wants the challenge of leading VivaReal's mobile mission. The ideal candidate is passionate about building amazing products, working in a fast-paced startup environment, and who loves to learn. Our Android engineer has a sense for product and wants to impact the lives of millions of people using our technology. The position is full-time and is based in São Paulo.

VivaReal is the leading online real estate marketplace startup in Latin America that connects buyers, sellers and renters with properties. Brazil and the US aside, VivaReal now has operations in Colombia and Mexico, and we have over 550,000 registered properties, generating 2.5 million monthly visits worldwide. We were born out of the Silicon Valley and have top executives from the US and Brazil. We are disrupting the real estate market using technology while building an amazing company culture in our headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and help build VivaReal's Android apps
• Influence and drive the technology choices and vision for VivaReal's mobile strategy
• Work closely with product management, design and other engineering teams
• Review code, create tests, and document software systems for mobile products
• Define, plan, and successfully execute high-value projects to improve mobile experience

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of work experience developing Java applications

• 2+ years of experience developing Android applications
• Proven experience with current Android platform (Jelly Bean)
• Experience consuming REST-like web services from Android applications
• You keep up with the latest Android features, Google APIs, and trends
• Proven ability to work and communicate with multidisciplinary distributed teams (including designers, developers, architects and QA engineers)
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Working and conversational knowledge of English
• You are not focused on the perfect solution for a problem, but rather the best solution given the time constraints. You have an attitude towards getting things done

Desired

• You currently have a highly-rated Android app

• Experience in using tools such as Jira and SVN, Google docs. Familiarity with tools such as Eclipse, the Android SDK and Android Tools, Junit, and Java

• Ability to innovate and partner with our design team to build multiple prototypes quickly
