Mas como seria a insercao de uma imagem no background da aba?

Não vejo problema, acredito que ai seja somente imagem para deixar com essa aparência.

To criando umas tabs com FragmentTabHost e to querendo alterar o layout das abas, 

nao somente colocar uma imagem junto ao titulo mas deixa-la assim como na imagem em anexo,

Tem como fazer isso?
