Da para fazer isso direto no Button usando a propriedade android:drawableLeft="sua imagem"
exemplo:<Button
android:id="@+id/button1"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="Seu texto "
android:drawableLeft="@drawable/ic_launcher" />
